The Benefits of Membership
As a young home brew club we are still trying to find the sweet spot for what we are able to offer as a club to our members, above and beyond what non-members enjoy at open meetings. We will continue to improve on club member benefits beyond the existing ones:
Reserve and Use Club Equipment
The club has been able to acquire brewing equipment, for use during our group’s brew days. If you would like to reserve the equipment for personal use, you are able to do so! This perk is for our HOPhead members.
Insurance
The AHA-facilitated insurance option provides participating clubs with general liability insurance ($1 million/occurrence; $3 million aggregate) and liquor liability insurance ($1 million/occurrence; $3 million aggregate) that collectively covers both club meetings and club-sponsored events for up to 1,000 attendees—all at a cost to the club of just $3.50 per club member.
Home Brew Store Discount
A 10% AHA member discount is available at Buckeye Brewcraft for members.
Club Competition
The annual HOPstoberfest celebration will include the annual HOPs club homebrew competition! All beer styles are permitted, but seasonal styles are preferred.
Home Brewer of the Year
We are super proud of the accomplishments of each and every one of our members. One of the best way to see the progression of brewers is through competitions. We base the annual Home Brewer of the Year award on the number of awards or achievements an individual brewer as won in a calendar year. The recipient of this award receives their name on the club trophy, which transfers between winners year after year.
HOPstoberfest BBQ
We are a young club but we are a happy family, and we love to celebrate each other and what an amazing adventure we are on together. Each September, we stage a grand BBQ for all of our club members and their families. We drink a ton of beer. From incredible home brew to rare bottle shares. This event also includes our annual Homebrew Competition.
Special Events
We try to involve ourselves as much as we can in the local craft beer community. This includes collaboration brews with local commercial breweries as well as tours and tasting events, which we open up to all our members.
Feedback Corner
We offer members the opportunity to receive critical feedback on their beers from members.
Refreshments
Inevitably at meetings we tend to drink a fair amount of beer and to be a responsible imbiber, it’s always wise to have snacks and water on hand.
We are always looking to add as much value as we can for our members. Please contact us with any ideas you may have to help enhance the experience for our members.
